half-work curates a small network of freelancers with domain depth and a verifiable AI toolstack. We win the engagements, we are the client's contracting party, you do the work. Applying with a CV takes five minutes — we usually reply within five working days, including when it is not a fit.
Domain depth plus an AI toolstack
At least five years of hands-on practice in your core field — marketing, engineering, design, HR, legal, sales, finance, ops. Plus AI tools you command in daily use (Claude, Cursor, n8n, Comfy, Pinecone — whatever they are). Your real name, CV and photo stay with us; in the directory you appear pseudonymously by default, and we pass your real name on to matching buyers after the briefing.
Acquisition, contract, acceptance
half-work runs the briefing conversation, wins the engagements and writes the B2B work contract. Externally you are not the contracting party — we are. A clean subcontractor construction, one point of contact for the client.
A share of the fee per engagement
You get a share of the fee on every engagement — we set the split transparently per assignment, depending on role, responsibility and effort. No hidden deductions; everything is written into the assignment. Details are in the cooperation agreement (freelancer agreement, German).
Certified training via KOMPETAI
Strong in your domain but not quite at home with AI tools yet? Our training partner KOMPETAI gets you there with its certified “AI practitioner” programme. If you are based in Germany, funding through the Federal Employment Agency may be available depending on your status (in individual cases up to 100%); we clarify eligibility together with the agency and KOMPETAI. Outside Germany it is available as a regular paid course. A suitable building block for your AI-literacy evidence under Article 4 of the EU AI Act.
Qognio as the runtime behind the scenes
If your way of working turns into an agent, it runs on Qognio — a sovereign AI platform with its data centre in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Own model pools, no US cloud in the path unless the client explicitly wants it. You never have to deal with infrastructure.

A form with a CV upload (PDF), your skills, the AI tools in daily use, availability and rate range. Five minutes.
We curate
We review your application, talk with you for 30 minutes and, if it fits, add you to the directory. Your profile lives in the login area — pseudonymous by default (senior domain, years, rate range, AI toolstack). Real name and CV go directly to matching buyers after the briefing; if you want to be visible under your real name, we can enable that on request.
We match, you work
We match you against incoming briefings. On a match: a work contract between the client and half-work, with you as our subcontractor. Rate, scope and acceptance — all cleanly documented.
